Discord VPN detection

The Signals section of every report carries a counter: VPN attempts blocked. It counts the VPN join attempts Double Counter blocked for this identity, on every server Double Counter protects — not only yours.

On the network map, the same count appears as small dots orbiting the account you searched. The counter sits next to the two others — alt accounts found and servers verified in — so you read the three together.

The counter shows on every plan, Free included. It is a number, never an IP address or the name of a provider. Because it spans the whole network, a newcomer to your server can arrive with a history: attempts blocked on servers you have never heard of show up here too.

Most members join a community server from their own connection. Someone who tries to verify through a VPN is often dodging a ban or keeping a second account apart from the first.

One attempt on its own can be innocent: a school or office network, a privacy habit. A long count is a pattern. It matters most next to the rest of the report — a newcomer with several blocked VPN attempts and a certain alt you banned last month is not a coincidence.

Read the count as context, not a verdict, and let the linked accounts carry the decision. When several newcomers from the same raid carry blocked attempts, search each of them: a raid is often a handful of people behind many accounts.

Changing the connection does not change the person. Doogle links accounts through behavioural signals captured across servers, and a VPN does not remove an account from Double Counter's history.

That is why a report can show certain alts and a high VPN count for the same identity: the VPN attempts were blocked, and the accounts were linked anyway. If the account came back from a ban, the ban evasion page walks through what to check next.

It works the other way too: an account with no blocked VPN attempt is not cleared by that alone. Read the report top to bottom — the counters, then the layers, then the map. The VPN count tells you someone tried to hide; the layers tell you who.

Then keep the accounts that worry you on your watchlist: a blocked VPN attempt on a watched account sends you an alert. An attempt blocked on your server joins the same network-wide total, so the next moderator who searches that account, anywhere, sees it too.
